The Scythians - आपले पूर्वज

मध्य आशियातून भारतात स्थलांतरित झालेल्या लाड सका(शाखीय) वाणी समाजाच्या "सका/शक/Scythian" वंशाच्या पूर्वजांची ओळख समस्त जगाला व्हावी या उद्देशाने Irma Marx या लेखकाने "The Scythians" या नावाची एक पुस्तिका प्रकाशित केली आहे.सका/शक/Scythian" लोकांचा मोठा अभ्यास जगभर चालू आहे.रोज नवनवीन माहितीवर प्रकाश पडत आहे.त्यावर समस्त लाड सका (शाखीय) वाणी समाज बांधवांचे लक्ष असले पाहिजे.

मध्य आशियातील सायबेरिया प्रांतात, अल्ताई पर्वत रांगांमधे रहाणार्‍या, इराणी मूळ असलेल्या या "सका/शक/Scythian" टोळ्यांना "Kindred Scythians/ Eastern Scythians) म्हणून ओळखले जाते. हेच महाराष्ट्रातील लाड सका/शाखीय वाणी समाज बांधवांचे पूर्वज आहेत.(संदर्भ - Herodotus)

इराणी मूळ असलेल्या या भटक्या जमातीचे लोक इ.स.पूर्व दुसर्‍या शतकापासून ते पार इ.स.च्या चवथ्या शतकापर्यंत टप्प्याटप्प्याने सायबेरिया प्रांतातून Sogdiana, Bactria, Arachosia, Gandhara, Sindh, Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra या क्रमाने उत्तर व पश्चिम भारतात स्थलांतरित झाल्या व "भारतीय शक/Indo-Scythians" म्हणून ओळखल्या जाऊ लागल्या.

१.Scythians were ancient(7th century to 3rd century BC) Iranic people who were the master horsemen and archers of Iron Age living in Eurasian steppes of central Asia known as Scythia.

२.Scythians defeated Cimmerians,Medeans,

Mesopotamians,Assyrians,Palestineans,Thracians Greeks & Persians.

३.Scythians were well organized into People’s Army/Military which had great socio-political effects.

४.The name "The name "Scythian is generated from an ancient Indo-European root "skeud"which means "propel/shoot”.Thus"Scythian" means "Archer/Aškuz/Skuthēs/Skuda.

५.Scythians were very good "Horsemen of the Steppe" & formed a huge(more than 150,000) cavalry.

६.The Scythians had developed a characteristik ‘Fish Scale Armor'.In later period Scythian kings and nobles opted for ‘foreign’ styled Greek helmets and greaves.

७.The Scythian female warriors from Sarmatia (present-day Ukraine) were known as "The Amazons".

८.Inspite of vary busy warfare Scythians were good

craftsman who created fascinating specimens of gold-made artworks and artifacts.Scythian art styles had an impact of neighboring cultures (e.g.Greek,Urartian,Armenian,Iranian,Indian,Chinese etc.).

९.Scythian art predominantly depicts beasts (e.g.stags lions, panthers,horses,birds and even mythical creatures like griffins and sirens).Hence it is known as "Animal art".

१०.Scythians traded grain,wheat,flocks, and even cheese to Greece.

११.The Scythian proclivity for cannabis was legendary.

१२.Scythians defeated the huge army of Persians. After their strategic victory over the Achaemenid Persians, the Scythians went on the offensive and conducted military campaigns on their western frontiers, especially into Thracian lands, for around two centuries.One such campaign, commanded by their high king the 98-year old Atheas, resulted in a disaster, with the leader and his entire army being annihilated by the Macedonians approaching from the south in circa 339 BC.However, less than a decade later, the Scythians, in turn, decimated a 32,000 strong army of the Macedonians and their allies who had audaciously tried to invade Scythia just like the Persians.

१३.Scythians were later defeated by Sarmatians. Scythians lost their hold over the Pontic steppes by circa 3rd century BC, thereby leaving behind their legacy in the form of massive kurgans filled with weapons and artifacts, along with impressive gold objects boasting high-quality workmanship.
