"BJMC-1973 Batch" चे वैशिष्ट्यपूर्ण सुवर्णमहोत्सवी स्नेहसंमेलन नुकतेच संपन्न झाले.सर्वांचे मन:पूर्वक अभिनंदन !

या स्नेहसंमेलनात शीला गोळे(शिंत्रे) यांनी गायलेले "पायलीया मोरी छनन छनन छन बाजे" हे गाणे कानाला फारच गोड लागत होते,पण ते कोणत्या रागात आहे हे मेंदूला नीट कळत नव्हते ? असे का ? कारण माझा संगीताचा अभ्यास कमी पडला.

शीलाचे हे गाणे म्हणजे कुठले नाटक-सिनेमातले गाणे नसून ती "राग पूरीया धनश्री" मधे बांधलेली एक "बंदिश" आहे. "बैजू बावरा" मधले उस्ताद अमीर खान साहब यांनी गायलेले "तोरी जय जय करतार" हे गाणे आठवते ? तोच हा राग !

आय.आय.टी.कानपुर येथे "रागां" वर बरेच संशोधन झाले असून "राग दरबारी" च्या श्रवणाने रक्तदाब व रक्तशर्करा नियंत्रणाखाली येते असे सिध्द झाले आहे. तर दुपारी "राग भीमपलासी" ऐकून मन शांत होते."राग पूरिया धनाश्री,राग दीपक व राग जौनपुरी" ऐकून आम्लपित्त शमते.तर सारंग वर्गातील राग(कल्याणी,चारुकेसी,आसावरी,पूरवी,तोड़ी) ऐकून डोकेदुखी पळून जाते.(संदर्भ:- नेचर जर्नल - आशीष गुप्ता,प्रोफेसर बृजभूषण,ह्यूमॅनिटीज ॲंड सोशल सायंस व प्रो.लक्ष्मीधर बेहरा,इलेक्ट्रिकल इंजीनियरिंग विभाग, आय.आय.टी.कानपुर).या कारणांमुळेच शीलाचे गाणे कानाला खूप गोड वाटत होते. काय असतो हा संगीतातला प्रकार ? वाचा.

1."Puria Dhanashri" is classified under "Poorvi Thaat" and is a Raganga Raga of Poorvi.

2.It has Rishav and Dhaiwat swaras as Komal ( r , d ).

3.It is a Sandhiprakash Raga,sung during dusk hour.

4.Shuddha Madhyam (m) and its chalan is a  'varjit' swara in Pooria Dhanashri.

5.Pronouncing of  - r' N d P, M r G,  d G P,  d M G r S- in Pooria Dhanashri is a great skill.

6.Vadi and samvadi are different.In Poorvi they are G and N,  and In Puria Dhanashri they are P and r.

7.Under Vishnu Digamber Paddhati,Pt.O.N. Thakur has classifed both the Ragas as Shadav-Sampoorna, whereas Pt.Vinayak Rao Patwardhan has classified Poorvi as Shadav-Sampoorna (P varjit in aaroha) and Puria Dhanashri as sampoorna.

8.In his treatise "Sangeetanjali" Pt.O.N.Thakur has stated that to avoid Puria Dhanashri creeping in while singing Poorvi, one should never use the swara pattern M G M r G and while doing avaroha  r' N d P  and N r' N d P should be avoided.

9.Similarly swara patterns - S r 'N ,  'N S r 'N,  S r S r 'N - should not be used to stay at 'n, which will invoke Gauri Raga.

10.Other 'tips' given to differentiate the Ragas are:-  

(i) Shuddha Madhyam (m) should never be used in Puria Dhanashri.

(ii) N to be  used less in Puria Dhanashri as compared to Poorvi.  

(iii) while singing Puria Dhanashri P should be made more prominent than G, although G is a nyas swaraa the Raga.Similarly in Poorvi G has to be given prominence.  

(iv) Pt Bhatkhande has stressed that Poorvi is invoked  immediately by use of 'N , S r G, m G and has also termed it as a 'Pakad' (catch phrase) of the Raga.

11.Many bandishes in Poorvi start with this phrase and is used extensively in other places also in the bandishes.

12.This note pattern is not used in Puria Dhanashri, which uses note pattern 'N r g instead.
