"BJMC-1973 Batch" चे वैशिष्ट्यपूर्ण सुवर्णमहोत्सवी स्नेहसंमेलन नुकतेच संपन्न झाले.सर्वांचे मन:पूर्वक अभिनंदन ! नसली व दीप्याचे विशेष अभिनंदन ! त्यांनी पुढाकार घेतलेली "BJMC-1973 Batch Scholarship" योजना आता आपल्या बॅचच्या बाहेर देखील चांगलीच मुळे धरू लागली आहे.अभिनंदन !

सुवर्णमहोत्सवी स्नेहसंमेलनानिमित्त आयोजित केलेल्या परस्पर परीचय मेळाव्यात "Retirement" हा विषय आवर्जून निघाला.बालरोगतज्ञ जगदीशने ठणकावून सांगीतले की मी एखादे बालक रडले तर मी कबरीतून देखील उठून बसेन.त्याला दुसरा बालरोगतज्ञ गणेश दिवेकर याने देखील होकार दिला.न्युराॅलिस्ट नसलीनेपण अशीच भावना व्यक्त केली.बाकीचे मनातल्या मनात काय म्हणाले असावेत ? वाचा.

मी "रक्तसेवे" ला मनापासून वाहून घेतलेला पॅथाॅलाॅजिस्ट ! त्यामुळे चरितार्थासाठी सुरु केलेली "पॅथाॅलाॅजी प्रॅक्टिस" वयाच्या ६२ व्या वर्षी "सबर्बन" या राष्ट्रीय साखळीकडे सोपवून मी जनकल्यण रक्तपेढी परिवाराचा "राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष" म्हणून जबाबदारी स्विकारली.ती अंतिम क्षणापर्यंत पार पाडायची आहे.वय वर्षे ६२ ते ६८ भारती विद्यापीठात "रक्तपेढी विभाग प्रमुख" म्हणून कार्यभार सांभाळला.या काळात रक्तपेढी विभागाची उभारणी(Licensing to Accreditation) ते PG Admission या अंतिम टप्प्यापर्यंत कार्यभार वाहिला.

आता आयुष्याची शेवटची "इनिंग" खेळायची.त्यात "सतत वाचन,चिंतन,मनन व लेखन" याचा समावेश आहे. "थॅलेसेमिया निवारणा" साठी जनजागृती व निधी संकलन हा संकल्प आहे.त्यामधे आमजनतेचा अतिशय चांगला प्रतिसाद मिळत असल्याने मनाला अतिव समाधान आहे.कालच निधी संकलनाची एक "लक्ष्यपूर्ती" झालेली आहे.असो.

"Doctors never retire,they just lose their patients" ! वाचा कोण काय करते ते !

1.Orthopaedic surgeons just ‘drag their feet’ and finally give a ‘cold shoulder’ to this idea.

2.Physicians just don't have 'guts' and 'stomach to digest' this idea,

3.Neurologists never retire, they just change their minds too often.

4.Psychiatrists never retire, they just lose their balance.

5.ENT surgeons handle the issue of retirement very 'deaf'tly and 'throat'tle thoughts about this.

6.Ophthalmologists using their 'vision’ turn a 'blind eye' and reject this 'eye'diology.

7.Obstetricians make promise to retire but all the 'labour' put in to 'conceive' this idea is 'aborted' and finally fail to 'deliver' on this front.

8.On the question of retirement, the cardiologists 'beat' around the bush and have change of 'heart' too often.

9.Diabetologists are 'insul(in)ated' from this concept of retirement.

10.Dermatologists are too 'thick skinned' to even think about this.

11.Pediatricians are so busy in 'child play' that they fail to grow upto the age of retirement.

12.Radiologists get 'hyper intense' on thoughts of retirement and send this idea to the 'grey' zone of consideration despite heavy 'ultra sounds' to make them hear.

13.Oncologists reject this idea 'radical'ly and this is treated off 'target' for them.

14.Issue of retirement never makes a 'cut' with the Surgeons.

15.Anaesthetists despite getting 'induced' to this idea tend to 'sleep over' it.
